“Most of my artistic approach could be described as naïf expressionism, although I never think of such specific labels when I draw or paint. 

Themes which are recurring in my work include interpretations of the natural world, feelings of isolation, nostalgia for the past, loss and loneliness… My paintings are often illustrations of memories and may contain dream-like or surreal elements.  When figures appear, they are usually caught in a static moment – they seem to be waiting for something to happen or contemplating something which happened in the past…”
